Turning a woman into a statue of sand

Change the layer mode to "Difference" from top of the layer palette.

Select and merge all the layers except teh image layer. Duplicate the layer. From "Filter" menu select "Blur>>Motion Blur". Apply settings as shown.

Change the layer mode to "Dissolve" from top of the layer palette.
